Schubert Wines - Wines

Pinot Noir is our most important variety and was the reason for us to settle in Martinborough within the Wairarapa region, where New Zealand's Pinot Noir history was born, to set up our vineyard. The 2001 Pinot Noir was our first vintage and was released in early 2003.

We produce three Pinot Noirs; the Estate Pinot Noir and two Pinot Noir clone-selections: the "Marion's Vineyard" Pinot Noir consisting predominantly of the Abel and Pommard clones while the "Block B" Pinot Noir consists primarily of the Dijon clones.

Recently Kai and Marion organised an internal vertical tasting with the staff. We went through all the Pinot Noirs vintages from the early 2003 till the current one: the 2012. We finally managed to have an overview of the aging potential of both Pinot Noir Marion's Vineyard and Pinot Noir Block B. For more info please click here.
