VARIETY: Assemblage of Syrah, Merlot and Pino Noir

CLIMATIC CONDITIONS:
Mild spring leading to ideal conditions for fruit-set in December. Summer was very hot and dry with some rain only towards the very end of autumn.
DATE OF HARVEST: 24th April 2013
HARVEST & VINIFICATION: Hand-picked and 100% de-stemmed. Fermentation in stainless steel vats and maceration for 3 weeks. Aged in 35% new and 65% used French Oak barriques for 4 years.
DATE OF BOTTLING: 16th March 2017
ALC: 14.0% VOL
TASTING NOTES:
Lifted notes of under growth and forest floor interwoven hints of open fires and fresh embers with underlying savoury spices plus dark chocolate. A vibrant entrance showing layers of complexity, raspberries and chewy toasted cinnamon bark. A true savoury core of cedar, Ghana chocolate and open fires leading into physical and earthy tannins.
