ORIGIN: Wairarapa CLIMATIC CONDITIONS: A mild and dry spring leading into a beautiful and warm summer and dry autumn with perfect conditions for a slightly early harvest. DATE OF HARVEST: various pickings in April 2016 HARVEST & VINIFICATION: Hand-picked, whole bunch pressed and fermentation in stainless steel. Fermentation stopped at 8.5% VOL. TASTING NOTES: This luscious wine obtained its name from the Italian Vintner, who started planting this vineyard in Martinborough in 1989. A luscious bouquet of lifted orange blossom and fresh jasmine, rich stone fruit reminiscent of white peaches, apricots and caramelised apples with an underlying hint of cinnamon. An unctuous entrance of fresh stone fruit, apricots amd white peaches explode onto your palate with notes of caramelised apples, honey comb and mandarins, beautifully balanced with a lingering silky spice.
