ORIGIN: Wairarapa CLIMATIC CONDITIONS: Mild winter and warm spring resulting in an early bud-burst, leading into a cooler than usual summer, followed by an early autumn.
DATE OF HARVEST: 25th - 29th March 2013 HARVEST & VINIFICATION: Hand-picked and careful selection of grapes. 100% de-stemmed, cold-maceration and fermentation in stainless steel vats and left on "skins" for 3 weeks. Aged in used French oak barriques for 18 months. DATE OF BOTTLING: 25th June 2015 ALC: 14.0% VOL
TASTING NOTES: Ruby red in colour. Rich, luscious bouquet offering layers of fresh and lively spice. A delicious entrance of sweet ripe fruit with notes of cherries and red currant, layers of aromatic spice with a hint of orange peel leading to a savoury core with subtle tannins. A medium bodied wine with velvety texture, creating a tasting impression.
