ORIGIN: Wairarapa CLIMATIC CONDITIONS: No spring frosts and favourable flowering conditions set ideal start to the season. Summer was windy, warm and dry with some rain towards the end of vintage. DATE OF HARVEST: 26. April 2011 HARVEST & VINIFICATION: Hand-picked and 100% de-stemmed. Fermentation in stainless steel vats and maceration for 3 weeks. Aged in 35 % new and 65% used French Oak barriques for 24 months. DATE OF BOTTLING: 12. June 2014 ALC: 14.0% VOL
TASTING NOTES: Deep dark with purple hues. Intense and full nose of black berries with freshly cracked black pepper, black truffle and hints of coffee and cold coals from the fire. Ripe black fruits entrance of poached black doris plums and spice leading to a full body palate with notes black truffle, leather, black olives and lingering touch of mocha with a long finish loaded with thight and firm tannins. a wine that is sure to have a long life time.
