ORIGIN: Wairarapa CLIMATIC CONDITIONS: Cool spring and summer resulting in a slow ripening of the grapes. The harvest started three weeks later than most years. Yet beautiful sunshine during April ensured perfect ripening conditions. DATE OF HARVEST: 11. - 17. April 2012 HARVEST & VINIFICATION: Hand-picked and careful selection of grapes. 100% de-stemmed, cold-maceration and fermentation in stainless steel vats and left on "skins" for 3 weeks. Aged in used French oak barriques for 16 months. DATE OF BOTTLING: 12. June 2014 ALC: 14.0% VOL
TASTING NOTES: Gorgeously ripe and sweet aromas of blackberries and huckleberries with some notes of orange and Mediterranean herbs, this ruby coloured wine has a medium to full body with a typical cherry filled pallet and a long lasting finish showing some earthy-spicy characters and a good tannin structure.
DRINKING TEMPERATURE: 16-18 ºC CELLARING: 4-7 years |
