DATE OF HARVEST: 11 -26 April 2012 HARVEST & VINIFICATION: Marion’s Vineyard is a selection of predominantly two Pinot Noir clones; the Pommard and the Abel clone. Hand-picked and careful selection of grapes. 100% de-stemmed, cold-maceration and small batch fermentation in stainless steel vats and left on “skins” for 3 weeks. Aged in 40% new and 60% used French oak barriquesfor 16 months.
DATE OF BOTTLING: 06 March 2014 ALC: 14.0% VOL
TASTING NOTES: Very fine layers of star fruit, strikingly ripe and sweet aromas of raspberry and boysenberry with hints of thyme, anise and leather in the nose. This ruby coloured medium to full bodied wine has a great cherry filled palate with layers of mushrooms and cloves. Showing good acidity balance, minerality and elegance with a long lasting finish with some earthy undertones leading to an approachable but tight tannic structured finish.
