ORIGIN: Wairarapa CLIMATIC CONDITIONS: Cool spring causing a late start to the season while a long and dry summer/autumn ensured ideal ripening conditions. DATE OF HARVEST: 08 - 14 April 2010 HARVEST & VINIFICATION: Marion’s Vineyard is a selection of predominantly two Pinot Noir clones; the Pommard and the Abel clone. Hand-picked and careful selection of grapes. 100% de-stemmed, cold-maceration and small batch fermentation in stainless steel vats and left on “skins” for 3 weeks. Aged in 30 % new and 70 % used French oak barriques for 16 months. DATE OF BOTTLING: 24 November 2011 ALC: 14.5% VOL
TASTING NOTES: Wonderful ripe and sweet aromas of raspberry and boysenberries with hints of a herbal flavours developing to more complex aromas of roasted hazelnuts and a touch of coffee beans. This deep ruby coloured medium to full bodied wine has a great ripe red berries filled pallet leading to a lively acidity balance which is completed by a touch of nougat, earthy undertones and porcini. Soft and approachable tannins give this Pinot Noir a smooth and silky long lasting finish. DRINKING TEMPERATURE: 16-18 ºC CELLARING: 4 - 10 years
