2009 PINOT NOIR "Marion's Vineyard"

91+ Parker Points

Pale ruby coloured with a tinge of purple, the 2009 Marion's Vineyard gives a slightly closed nose of black cherries and black raspberries with nuances of tree moss, beet root and forest floor plus a hint of smoked game. Medium-full bodied, the earthy / savoury flavours are taut with refreshing acidity giving lift and a medium level of grainy tannins, finishing long. Drink this one now to 2016+.

2009 PINOT NOIR "Block B"

Pale ruby in colour, the Schubert's 2009 Black B Pinot Noir has fragrant aromas of rose petals and lavender over a core of red cherries, cranberries and red currants with hints of cinnamon and dark chocolate shavings. Medium to full bodied, it is richly fruited with spicy red berry flavours supported by crisp acidity and silky tannins, finishing long. Drinking nicely now, it should cellar through 2016+.

2008 Syrah

Medium to deep garnet coloured, the 2008 Syrah gives intense aromas of kirsch, blackberry pie and blueberry tart with underlying black pepper, anise and mocha notes plus a hint of smoky bacon. Full bodied and generously fruited in the mouth, it offers layers of peppered blackberry and savoury flavours supported by firm rounded tannins and crisp acid. The finish is satisfyingly long and peppery. Delicious now, it should cellar to 2016+.

2009 Sauvignon Blanc

Schubert's 2009 Sauvignon Blanc has intense citrus and grapefruit aromas with some grass and a pleasant yeasty/creamy undercurrent plus a touch of gooseberry. Crisp with good weight and texture, it gives a long zesty finish. Drink it now to 2012.

2009 Dolce

93 Parker Points

Produced from 100% Muller Thurgau, the 2009 Dolce gives a pale gold color and intense notes of lemon marmalade, dried apricots and dried mango with hints of clover honey, musk and preserved mandarin peel. Very, very sweet and concentrated with very crisp, lively acid, this is made in a lower alcohol style, finishing long with lingering notes of dried tropical fruits and honeycomb. Drinking beautifully now, it should keep to 2016+.
